Statement of Faith

At the Upper Room, we believe the following:

• That the Bible is the inspired, authoritative and only infallible Word of God.
• That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
• In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the oneness with the Father that He had before the creation, which was created by Him and for Him [Colossians 1:15-16, Ephesians 3:9], in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule the kingdoms for a thousand years.
• In the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
• That the only means of being cleansed from sin is through the precious blood of Christ, [Colossians 1:14], repentance and faith.
• That regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
• In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by who’s indwelling a Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
• In the baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask. [Luke 11:13]
• In the present day reality of the supernatural operation of the gifts of the Spirit.
• That the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the spirit, soul and body in answer to believing prayer.
• In the observance of the ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
• In the operation of the five-fold ministry gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.
